Will Sony Help Me Make My Sony Reader PRS-505 Whole Again?

thumbnailLast week, I accidentally cracked the eInk display of my beloved Sony Reader PRS-505 and I am crushed. While I am devoted, if the repair cost of swapping/replacing the screen is much more than USD $99 I will abandon the Sony Reader platform for the $299 Amazon Kindle, which has Internet access and WhisperNet access. So, I am selfishly writing this post, hoping that Sony’s social media team might be willing and able to help me out. While they do have a replacement program for $90, it does not include screen breakages. I am very sad as I was halfway through reading Journal of a Novel, a lovely book by John Steinbeck, recommended to me by Minh Le and purchased for money on the Sony Reader online book store. I hope Sony is generous, at the end of the day — to me and to everyone.

Where is social media going? Everyone has their opinions, but no one really knows. Still, it sure is fun to predict.  I took some time to talk to Chris Abraham, your favorite Marketing Conversation blogger,  about some of what he sees in his crystal ball for social media.

But before you can reach the future, I suppose you begin with the past and present.

Some tips if you’re going to use online video

I just read a puff piece on LinkedIn about how every website NEEDS (his emphasis not mine) online video.  It was put out by a guy who, amazingly, is a partner at a company that makes online videos.  The title of the piece was 3 Reasons Every Website NEEDS Custom Marketing Video Today! Of course it had to have an
